My Approach

At Bala Bee Yoga I aim to educate the whole child through a mindful practice with yoga, as a way for them to more intimately know a mind-body connection. I will provide age appropriate yoga through creative movement, & mindful based activities. Your child's class will commonly include asanas, games, stories & poetry, songs & music. With this, I strive to help the children settle into their own bodies by improving strength, balance, coordination, body awareness, flexibility, & fun, all in kid friendly ways.

My Background

My journey with yoga has come full circle, as I fell in love with yoga when I was just five. Attending those first classes at such a young age planted seeds that have blossomed into a lasting relationship. With a deep respect for the practice I have explored many styles of yoga over the years. As a result of this exploration, yoga for me, has moved past merely working the asanas to a much deeper practice.

I have served children in various settings for over thirty years, have a great love & dedication for cultivating the next generation in the myriad of ways that meet the children's needs. As a self proclaimed lifelong learner I pursue credentials that support the children with;

  • BS in Child Development & Family Relations

  • IMC Montessori Teacher, Primary

  • Level I Children's Yoga Training

  • 200 hour RYT Yoga Alliance Yoga Teacher -
    Hatha Style

  • 95 hour RCYT Yoga Alliance Children's
    Yoga Teacher

  • 300 hour RYT Yoga Alliance  Yoga Teacher - Vinyasa Style

I have had the privilege to provide children's yoga in my local area since 2014, through summer camps, Montessori & public schools, libraries, outdoor parks, forest yoga, semi private & private classes. I feel at home when I am sharing yoga with the children. Yoga compliments my profound devotion to educating the whole child. It gives me great joy and contentment to be scattering those yoga seeds, previously planted in me, when I was young.

A few nuggets of powerful yogic wisdom i've gleaned ...

  • make peace with self

  • sit with your mind as it is

  • kindness matters most

  • use a mindful practice

  • maintain good body alignment

  • yoga is a practice, NOT perfection!
